11 tricks to make the most of Samsung’s web browser on your mobile or tablet
Browsers in Google Play there are those you want and more, but only some names are really known. Surely they sound Google Chrome, Firefox and Opera, but there is one more that has recently managed to reach one billion downloads: the Samsung’s web browser. Since it is pre-installed in all the brands’ mobile phones, and given that Samsung is the company with the most deliveries worldwide, it is normal that its own browser has become so popular.
Even so, having it pre-installed does not mean that any user cannot download it from Google Play on any device. Millions of people use it daily and, currently, it has a rating of 4.4 stars based on more than 700,000 reviews. Proceed, therefore, to discuss some tips and tricks to get the most out of it and make the most of it.
Set it as default browser
When you open a link on WhatsApp, for example, Android will ask you which browser you have installed (usually Google Chrome and, in this case, the Samsung browser) you want to use. So that it does not happen again and access the Samsung by default, click on “Always” in the drop-down or, failing that:
- Access the browser.
- Press the three dots in the upper right area.
- Select “Settings.”
- In the module that appears above, select “Default”.
- In the next window, click on “Browser application”.
- Select “Samsung Internet”.
Use incognito mode and enter password
Like all browsers, the Samsung has an incognito mode (called “secret mode”) that does not save the history. To access it do the following.
- Click on the “Tabs” button that appears on the bottom right.
- Select “Activate secret mode”.
- In the window that will appear, select “Set password”.
- It must have at least four characters including a letter, so it can be something like “749j”.
When you have configured it, whenever you open the secret mode it will ask you to enter the password. That way, nobody will be able to access what you have open there. What will it be? It depends on you.
